“KWORI”12mos, Male, Gr/White, Scotland

Meet Kwori, who had his first birthday on Christmas Eve. Currently in foster care in Scotland, Kwori is a fun loving, intelligent and high energy boy who is slap bang in the middle of adolescence and currently learning some manners.  His new owners will have to be willing to continue with his education—he’s no different than any lively Mally boy! Kwori is extremely strong and would like an active home where he could maybe learn to do some backpacking or weightpull in the future; he is currently being introduced to a harness.  Kwori says "I would like an active home with experienced owners who will teach me the ropes—errr, lines! I'd prefer to be the only dog but I just might live with another Mally, if a girl....oh and I should only live with children over 14 years of age as I'm a bit bouncy.” Could you give this handsome boy the forever home he deserves?

“DYLAN”8yo, Male, Red, Yorkshire area

Dylan came to rescue some time ago very overweight and with some bad habits however he's now trimmer and fitter than ever and is looking forward to sharing the rest of his life with someone specail who will take the time to get to know him.  At 8 years of age, he's the fittest he's ever been so for if you are looking to adopt a currently fit dog but one that has now had chance to mature and mellow, Dylan could be the dog for you or your family!  No children under the age of 14 purely due to there being no track history of Dylan living with children.  Dylan may live well with a  female dog.

“NANUQ”14months, Male, Gr/White

Nanuq came into rescue through no fault of his own.  He's a very friendly young chap, though his manners towards other canines can be a little rocky initially as he's still some manners to learn. However, once he's spent a little time with a dog, overall he is well behaved and so we feel he could potentially live with a female. Nanuq is lively and would suit a working or active home. He's still mouthing when excited but he is much better than he was and is learning very quickly.  Are you interesting in working a Malamute in harness? Do you live an active lifestyle? If so, then you may wish to meet Nanuq!!

“DEFA”2yo, Male

Defa's a young lad in the throes of adolescence and he can try to show dominance and assert his status—if allowed.  Therefore, especially given his age, being firm and setting clear boundaries from the start is a must with Defa as he will try to push his luck.  He can display dominant behaviour with other dogs; this is not unusual for the Alaskan Malamute breed, his age or his gender. However, by this age, his manners should have progressed a little so some socialisation is a “Defa-nit” must for this guy!  Someone who wishes to devote their time to Defa will need to continue with the guidance on a consistent basis and realise that he is the 'type' of the dog that if you allow him, will try and get ahead of the game. At two years of age, he is reaching his prime and with the right direction should develop into a lovely Malamute.   Not to be homed with children under the age of 14, Defa could potentially live with a female dog.

“NERO”  - 21-mo Male, Bl/White, West Midlands

Nero is a breeder rehome. A 21-month-old neutered male, Nero has been returned to his breeder due to a change of circumstance for his owners.  He has no known issues and walks well on a lead. He has learnt to sit and stay and give paw to say hello. He is very eager to please and quick to learn. He has lived with older children of 12 plus. Nero is a very affectionate dog who loves to lick and nuzzle and he has lived successfully with an older Malamute bitch. He is fully vaccinated, wormed and microchipped. Parents are KC registered and their health certificates are available to view. The successful adopter will be very fortunate indeed! This is a wonderfully-bred Alaskan Malamute, from a well-respected breeder.

“POLO”  - 5yo, Male, Red, Based in Scotland

Polo has come back to rescue through no fault of his own he is  a 5-1/2 year old very handsome red male based in Scotland. He is super friendly with the sweetest face. His coat at present needs a bit of attention (which we are working on) this will need regular grooming being a long coat. He currently lives with a female malamute and could live with another large breed female  (he’s not to keen on smaller dogs) Polo would love a home where he would get the love and attention such a sweet boy deserves, he wants nothing more than to be included in your activities maybe even having a go in harness. A home with children over 12 as even at 5 years of age he is still enthusiastic.

“YANA”6yo, Female, Bl/White, Based in Scotland

Yana is a seal and white 6 year old female, based in Scotland, who is a little over weight and will need  an exercise regime put in place. She is looking for a home with someone who understands the breed and has the time and patience to help her accept strangers into her home; this little girl  has so much potential and just needs someone to help  bring it out. She currently lives with a male malamute. Yana says – “I would like an active experienced home with lots of patience and no children, oh and I don’t like being left alone for too long.” But then who among us does???

“KNIGHT” male, 2yrs, Bl/White, located in Bristol area

Opportunity alert! What an opportunity here for someone who would like to work and run a Malamute! Knight is 2 years of age, overly typical for his age, bouncy with lots to offer. Knight would benefit from an active lifestyle as this is where is qualities are!  If you are after a Malamute that you can take for long walks, runs and work in harness, even if only to scooter down a local track, Knight is the dog for you!  His foster carers have given some great feedback and apart from a few typical gender and age-related pushy episodes (he wouldn’t be a Malamute if he didn’t go through them!) he is proving to be a dream and a star pupil at what he gets involved in! Knight would make great working dog. Don’t wait. He’s ready—and isn’t he gorgeous? NB: Knight is to be rehomed with no small furries within the home or with children under the age of 12.

“BREGO”, Male, 6yrs, located in Co Durham
Brego is a very happy, much loved and extremely intelligent dog. He no longer likes living with small children so a loving new home without children is needed to give him his preferred lifestyle. Brego has lived with cats all his life, loves playing with them and knows they are above him in the pack (although caution is always advised when it comes to cats). He doesn't dig up gardens, isn't a vocal dog compared to a typical Mal, is used to the house being empty during working hours and loves lots of fussing, being talked to and walks. Brego can be nervous around some strangers and sometimes takes a little bit of time for him to get to know them, probably because he was passed around several homes as a pup. Brego has a thyroid condition which is managed by medication which he happily takes and is not expensive to treat. Please give Brego the home he deserves, he is a wonderful dog and a brilliant companion.

”MIAH” - Bitch, 3 years of age
Miah will need regular training in the right home. The home should be a quiet and calm environment with someone experienced in Malamutes and who likes a challenge.
Miah seems to have lost her faith in human kind and can take a little time to get to know someone.  Miah needs a calm handler with a strong and confident manner.  Someone who is patient and someone who will take the time to observe Miah in order to get the best from her.  Miah does not want to be let down again!

“INDY” - Sable & White, Male, 4yo, Lincolnshire
Indy is a breeder rehome. He was returned, through no fault of his own, due to his owners changed living situation. Indy is full of get up and go, so will suit a busy lifestyle. A very loving, friendly, bouncy dog, he is used to being a house pet so would prefer to live indoors. He has lived with cats before and has been around children with no issues. He walks nicely on the lead, responds to various commands and is a very quick learner. He has no behaviour issues, but could benefit from polishing up his manners. He is OK with other dogs in the main, but does not tolerate all males. Indy will need an active home, ideally working. Children over 5, please. He should live as an only dog or with a bitch. Vaccinations & worming current, neutered, microchipped,  KC registered; parents’ copy health test certificates, pedigree will be provided.

“MURRAY” -  2yr 3mos, Gr/White, Male
This young lad entered rescue very early In his life. Quite simply, he didn’t get the best of starts.  As he reached adolescence he developed a bit of chip on his shoulder; however with some firm guidance he's now developing into a lovely dog. Still young, Murray has potential to develop even further and if someone has the time and effort to keep this lad on the straight and narrow he will make a very good companion.  Murray's very friendly with other dogs and so we are confident he could live with another dog if it's the right match.  Murray will need a firm but fair approach—as they all do—but in particular you’ll want to keep your eye on the ball and follow the advice which will be provided by his carers to find the best success. Not to be homed with children under the age of 14 due to no history of living with children.

”THOR” - 2 1/2 yo, male, Black/Wh, Yorkshire

Thor has proven to be a typical male of his age.  When this young lad gets a little excited, he tends to mouth quite hard and his manners are poor in this respect.  However we feel with the right approach this behaviour will improve very quickly.  Thor is a sensitive dog, and we feel the harsh correction techniques used previously make him a little nervous around new people and new situations.  We are working with Thor to improve his behaviour when he's excited and we are also trying to make 'meeting people' a nice experience.  Thor is not keen on other dogs, and although we are working with this element also, we feel he should be homed as the only dog.  If you have the time to restore some faith in Thor, spend some quality time with him, trying to get the best of him, we feel he will be a great addition to your pack.

“KENO” - 5 year old male

Keno is a loving big bundle of fun, he has great spirit, he is most happy when in the company of people but he does need reminding who is in charge, like the majority really. Keno has no experience with young children so we would suggest homed with children over 10 years of age due to size. Keno seems quite sociable with most dogs so quite good reports here, although he's not to be trusted with cats - again nothing of a surprise for Keno. Keno does not walk too well on the lead due to lack of training and guidance in this area, however w also believe this area would improve one his exercise becomes sufficient and consistent. Keno likes to live indoors or outdoors. Keno can be a little excited when first meeting people and may jump but again this is something that can be worked on.
